Dunlop in North Ayrshire, this from the east looking over Newmill Road.

In the far distance are Ailsa Craig and Arran in the Firth of Clyde.

Did John Boyd Dunlop (the pneumatic tyre man) come from here? No, sorry, he was from Dreghorn, a village near Irvine, eight miles to the south.

Like so many churches in Scotland, Dunlop is linked with another parish, in this case Caldwell.
