The location of the grave of Mary Campbell, Robert Burns' Highland Mary, in Greenock cemetery. (The first page on this site with no aerial photos.)

The original burial was in Greenock Old West Kirkyard but was moved here with much ceremony in1920, almost one hundred years ago, so maybe expect a centenary?

You might note that the grave is labelled as “Highland Mary” and has Burns' name on it but totally ignores the surname of the deceased. Also, for some as yet unknown reason, her date of birth on the monument has been erased and/or filled in. Not what you'd call respectful, maybe.

They managed to find room for a couple of lines of poetry but not her name.

The pages linked to below are of the monument in Failford and the statue in Dunoon.

Public access is free and you can drive right up to the graveside.
