This is a fascinating place.
A private 18-hole golf course built by a local business millionaire in 2009 or so and kept in immaculate condition but, as far as anyone knows, almost never played on. The clubhouse is seemingly a shell, ready to finish with an interior and there is planning consent for up to 170 luxury residences as well as the usual spa, restaurant, leisure and entertainment. The whole site extends to 24,000 acres.
In short, it's planned to be a rival to Gleneagles, just next door to the north.
Sadly, due to all sorts of reasons, it's been put on hold and the whole place is up for sale (in September 2026). There's no price published but it's probably beyond most people's pockets.
The first photo shows the clubhouse with in the distance the village of Blackford and in the left corner the bottling plant for Highland Spring water which is owned by the same family as gWest.
The photos were taken in October 2026. There's currently no public access to the course.
