This is the ferry that was out of service for about two years.

This hard turn into the berth is the main reason that this port can't be used by the new ferry Glen Sannox - the one that was delivered umpteen years late, well over budget and keeps breaking down.

The port has now been sold into public hands and will be adapted for the new ferry and its sister ship, also greatly delayed. The snag is, that will then close this port for a year or two as it's dredged and adapted.

Meantime until the ferries are all up and running the people of Arran and the other islands are facing starvation, isolation, uncertainty and misery.
