Barony Colliery “A” Frame
Auchinleck, Ayrshire
The last remnant of the Barony Colliery to the west of Auchinleck in Ayrshire. This was
the main frame that operated the cages to lower the miners into the pit.
This massive structure is well worth a visit if travelling on
the A75 or the A70 through Ayrshire.
It's not hard to find, it dominates the skyline for miles around.
