As she approaches the pier the bow is lifted to unload the cars and lorries on board.

These photos were taken looking north and showing the well-known curved station platform and pier of Wemyss Bay ferry terminal.
Across the Clyde from here is Innellan and that's Dunoon in the distance, both are on the Cowal peninsula. (“Wemyss” is pronounced “Weems”, for those not from the area.)
