Wallace's Well
Robroyston, Glasgow

Wallace's Well, Robroyston, Glasgow is the place where William Wallace was said to have drunk just before he was betrayed to the English in August, 1305.

It's a short distance from here to the monument to his capture.

The well is now protected by stonework but isn't in an ideal location. As you can see there is no protection from passing traffic and great care is required.

It's neatly maintained but dangerous to visit.

There's parking for a few cars to the right (west) of these photos but no pavement or pathway to help get to the well safely.

No comment is made about the lack of an apostrophe.

(Okay, admit it, that was a comment.)
