Looking north over the Town Moor, this statue of Robert Burns faces south, towards Alloway.
Unveiled on 18th July, 1896 and created by James MacGillivray it's in bronze and sits on a base of Aberdeen granite.

From over the River Irvine. That's Irvine Police Station at the top.
Burns worked in Irvine for a short time, in a heckling shed, preparing wool as part of the weaving industry. He seems not to have enjoyed it.
