The Shipbuilders of Port Glasgow, also known as The Skelpies, are 10 metre tall stainless steel sculptures in Coronation Park, Port Glasgow, right by the river.

The artist was John McKenna.

The Skelpies? It's a pun on the Kelpies, a couple of steel horses up by the M9 in Grangemouth.

Not the easiest subjects to render with a digital camera.

As you can see Port Glasgow was celebrating an anniversary in 2025 when these photos were taken.

Recently Port Glasgow won a 'prize' as the most dismal town in Scotland but that was rescinded after many complaints from unhappy locals.
